An editorial project that challenges leading magazines from around the world to place insightful criticism at the top of their agendas. In contrast to the frenzied search for the next hot trend, EXD calls upon design, architecture and lifestyle publications to foster profound, paradigm-defying critical reflection for a broad audience. The goal is to lead these media agents to ponder about their role as information vehicles, by raising issues and controversy and their educational influence among non-experts.

With this in mind, each publication will act as a curator, responsible for selecting a guest author to write a specially commissioned critical essay. Apart from being published in their respective magazines, at a later stage the essays will be compiled in a single volume. Championing the enlargement and consolidation of a theoretical source, Stop & Think aims to contributes to the development of sharp observation and in-depth critique in design disciplines.
