Metamorphosis – Memory And Gesture
CONFERENCE
For ‘Memory and gesture’, pieces with different sizes and formal results and a strong anatomical relation were developed, through the exploration of techniques like crochet, knitting and felting, using composition threads and different thicknesses.
The project makes us think about the emotional relation between an object and the emotions it brings to surface. Perception and form recognition, the emotional activation, all stimulate a reflexive process.
This project is based on a fieldwork made in several regions in Portugal, mapping museum, industrial and craftwork spaces that perpetuate the knowledge on wool production and transformation.
