Born in 1962 in Ourém, Portugal, he graduated in Electronic Engineering from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia of Coimbra. He started his professional career as a secondary school teacher, and later performed activities in the area of industrial maintenance and production, transitioning to Roca in 1991.

Since then, he has worked with the company, starting his role there as a Sales Representative for the Central Heating Department, which he later on began to coordinate. In 1997 he took on the Commercial Direction of the Sanitary and Central Heating Departments until 2006. That same year, he was posted in Argentina as Managing Director of Roca Argentina S.A, where he remained until 2009, when he returned to Roca Portugal, where he took on the role of Managing Director.
