Hugo Silva, Joana Santos
DAM is about Design, Craft and Furniture. It’s about artefacts that tell stories about culture and memories.
After winning the 5th edition of POPs – Portuguese Original Projects – with the pieces Nel and Maria, and after the international premiere at 100% Design in London with great success, now DAM presents its products in Lisbon.
Developed by the Portuguese designers Hugo Silva and Joana Santos, the first pieces appeal to emotions and are inspired by Portuguese culture. They represent a Portuguese family, including Nel and Maria, two bedside tables with lamp, the wardrobe Nandos, the floor lamp Zé and the wall clock Silva.
Each piece results from synergies between designers, artisans and industry. The challenge is blurring cultural, geographical or technological boundaries. This way, DAM renews a collective heritage that continues to be genuine and promotes Portuguese identity throughout the world, building the bridge between Economy and Culture.
