15 YEARS OF PROJECTS
1999-2014: 75 projects accomplished as a platform for cultural reflexion and the stimulus of the creative community
As Far As The Mind Can See, theme of the 8th edition of the Biennale, was an invitation to explore the relationship between the mind, the individual and creativity, focusing the unique individual capacities for abstraction and invention, on what allows them to go that extra mile, to find different perspectives and to design something new.
The seventh edition of the Biennale brought to Lisbon the theme No Borders. It instigated the analyses about what can be obstacles and frontiers in the contemporary context, identifying potential solutions to overcome obstacles, transforming and expanding those frontiers.
The theme of the 6th edition of EXD launches an exploratory analysis on the idea of Useful. In a society increasingly obsessed with the achievement of tangible goals and material possessions, the idea of being without occupation or purpose is absurd. Worse: it is politically and socially incorrect.
The theme of the 5th edition of EXD launches an in-depth analysis on the subject of time. Focusing primarily on the flows and mechanisms of acceleration and fragmentation, it then surveys its impacts across contemporary society.
