A new partnership in the field of design

Experimentadesign and Veritas have established a partnership that has combined the activity of Veritas – international auction house created by a group of specialists with vast years of national and international experience within the art market, and which is now venturing into the field of design, with the extensive know-how of experimentadesign, resulting in a new approach to themes linked to design, investment and collecting.

Reflecting its vocation in the field of research and the dissemination of information and knowledge, experimentadesign proposed the creation and coordination of an International Advisory Board that will provide a strategic frame for the work done by Veritas, along with the creation of a series of debates on the theme of design, collecting, limited editions and series, in connection with auctions.

The first debate will take place on the 27th of May and brings to Lisbon one of the most prominent players of the design world, Alexander von Vegesack, collector, founding director of the Vitra Design Museum and President of the Domaine de Boisbuchet. Furthermore, the debate will also include two Portuguese protagonists, Paulo Parra, professor, designer and collector and Luis Royal, researcher and design critic, along with the participation of Walter Bettens, editor of DAMnº Magazine, as agent provocateur.

The debate, which is moderated by Guta Moura Guedes, President of experimentadesign, precedes the opening of the exhibition of the pieces up for auction, which will be open to the public from the 28th of May to the 3rd of June. The auction will take place on the 4th of June at Veritas.

Contents and Layout Design

experimentadesign is responsible for the layout design of Festival IN, which is organized by the AIP Foundation. This challenge was accepted by (e) through a perspective of design thinking, with the objective of creating a differentiating interface within the area of consumption and the sharing of contents. For this purpose, a team involving the (e) mix media unit and the designer Miguel Vieira Baptista was created, and will contribute towards making this Festival a national and international reference in the area of events dedicated to the creative economy and innovation.

experimentadesign will also curate the contents related to design and the creative economy associated with Festival IN.

Festival IN will take place during two essential moments throughout 2013. The Warm Up will run during the 29th and 30th of May, with the International Conference on Intellectual Property and the International Conference of Lisbon on the Creative Economy. The second phase of the Festival will take place from the 14th to the 17th of November, and according to the organizers "aims to constitute a space for interaction and the sharing of knowledge between investors, creators, dreamers and entrepreneurs".

The 105th anniversary of the artist

Invited by the Arpad Szenes – Vieira da Silva Foundation, experimentadesign will participate in the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the artist Helena Vieira da Silva. This pro-bono participation will consist of an intervention in the Jardim das Amoreiras, in front of the building of the Foundation, and is specifically supported by JCDecaux.

Accompanied by several initiatives promoted by the Foundation to celebrate this day, the project will be inaugurated on the 13th of June and will be open to the public for a month.
