CATARINA NUNES Luanda, 1978 Degree in Design / Ceramics Technologies at ESAD, Caldas da Rainha. "Ceramics and Glass Design" Course - University of Central England, Birmingham, United Kingdom, under the Socrates-Erasmus program. As part of her training, she took part in many courses and workshops the areas of ceramics, glass and textiles, at CENCAL - Caldas da Rainha, CITEX-Porto and IGC International Glass Center - United Kingdom. In 1999 she begins working in the areas of ceramics design, graphic design, illustration and production for companies such as Raul da Bernarda, Porcel and SHOW - Save Hours of Work - design studio. Took part in many competitions among which the Young Designer Award 1998 (ICEP) is worth highlighting. Honorable Mention, International Industrial Design Competition for Flooring and coating CEVISAMA 99. Honorable Mention, "Design em Português" Competition 2000. Honorable Mention, "Design em Português" Competition 2001. 3rd Prize, "Design em Português" Competition 2002. She took part in exhibitions in Lisbon, Caldas da Rainha, Porto, Helsinki, Valencia, Frankfurt and Tokyo. Currently living in Tokyo, she is finishing her Masters' Degree in Contemporary Ceramics at Tama Art University, holding a scholarship from Monbukagakusho. |
