Márcia Novais studied Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto between 2005 and 2010.
During her last academic year, she started working on Close-up, a final show with selected works, with her friends. It had two editions; in 2010 and 2011. In 2011 she started working as the Graphic Designer at the Faculty of Fine Arts and her work was featured in the 2011 September issue of IdN Magazine. Her work has also been featured in the October 2012 issue of Print Mag. Furthermore, it has been published in image bookmarking sites, such as FFFFound!, It’s Nice That, Typographic Posters, Slanted, among others. She was interviewed by João Drumond for his project Drawn to Places, at Casa Tait, Porto. She was selected as one of Print’s New Visual Artists in 2013. She contributed to the 20 20 20 exhibition in Guimarães, Portugal, organized by Bolos Quentes. She also integrated the collective show Proportion by Graphic BirdWatching, at 71A Gallery, during the London Design Festival 2012.
