Organized by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, “Weltliteratur” exhibition was a celebration of Portuguese literature. More than reproducing the pieces on display, the catalogue constitutes a privileged medium for revealing the curator’s selection of texts. Observing and reinforcing thematic connections between texts and artworks, the catalogue pays homage to the written word as art in and of itself.
