This research project on “genuine design” in handcrafts stems from the vernacular techniques and characteristic materials of traditional material culture in the South of Portugal. The collaboration with local artisans gave rise to objects that do not seek to be novelties. Picking up their natural evolution were time had left them off, these are the objects of the old days fighting for ways to be functional in new contexts.
