Susana Gaudêncio is a Visual Artist has a College degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon. She has a Master in Fine Arts from Hunter College, City University of New York, sponsored by Calouste Gulbenkian and Luso-American Foundations. She is persuing a PHD in Visual Art at the University of Lisbon sponsored by FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology, and works as a guest assistant professor at the School of Art and Design, IPL - Leiria Polytechnic Institute in Caldas da Rainha.

She has had solo exhibitions at CAV (Visual Arts Centre), Coimbra, in Espaço A/C and Galeria Pedro Cera – Mnemonica de Lugares in Lisbon, participated in group exhibitions in Holland, Barcelona, New York and Liverpool. Gaudêncio was part of the exhibition Portuguese Artists - Outside at the Electricity Museum. In January 2009 and inaugurated Houyhnhnm at the ISE Foundation in New York City. Her work was part of ResPublica at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation - Modern Art Center. In September 2011 she ended her Three Chambers Series solo exhibitions at Carlos Carvalho Gallery after Drawing Spaces in Lisbon and Presença Gallery in Oporto.
